JESUS IS OUR SECURE HOPE
Hebrew 6:9-20

Rev. Gilbert Lumoindong

Life without hope is not worth a living. The key of our Christian life is that we have hope in God. We have many problems in our life, but still there is hope. Today I would like to share what Paul said about a secure hope we have in Jesus Christ our Lord.

I. WHAT IS OUR HOPE

1.

OUR HOPE IS A SECURE AND ETERNAL TREASURE

Money, our riches, our status are not eternal. Those could be depreciated, vanish or even lost. But our hope is eternal and secure. Though life storm may rush us, if we keep cling to the Lord and be patient we will receive God’s promise, like Abraham who received God’s promise after patiently waiting.

2.

OUR HOPE LAYS IN THE FUTURE
Our hope is something we still pray for, so keep our look to the future, not to the past.

3. OUR HOPE IS AN ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL, FIRM AND SECURE

II. THE FUNDAMENTAL OF OUR HOPE

1.

GOD IS RIGHTEOUS, HE COUNT OUR WORK AND OUR LABOR OF LOVE

I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. Rev 2:19

God knows our deeds, our love and faith.

2.

GOD REQUIRE PATIENCE AND FAITH

We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

Heb 6:11-12

For God it’s easy to heal, but He demands our faith.

3.

GOD NEVER LIES

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. Heb 6:18

4.

OUR GOD IN JESUS CHRIST AS OUR FORERUNNER

Where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. Heb 6:20

Jesus as the High priest entered the Most Holy Place not with the blood of goats and calves but by His own blood to obtain the eternal redemption. (Heb 9:11-12)

If Jesus had shed His blood to set us free, what else He will not give us. Keep courage and put our hope in Jesus, for in Him we find a secure hope.

Be strong and keep on moving in Christ.

In His field,
Rev. Gilbert Lumoindong
